This Thursday, MiCrédito hosted a cocktail party to relaunch MiCrédiEstudios and presented the first results of the campaign. University students, members of MiCrédito's Board of Directors, and special guests participated in the event.

"The MiCrédiEstudios program focuses on providing financing options to university students that need to pay for student registration fees, tuition, technical equipment and language courses and also supports young entrepreneurs. To date, about 12,000,000 cordobas (US$ 412,000) has been disbursed in the León, Managua, and Granada branches," outlined Verónica Herrera, MiCrédito's CEO.

The second stage of the re-launch will begin next year, with the goal of reaching a portfolio of 32,000,000 cordobas (US$ 1.1 million) and with plans to offer the product in four other branches: Rivas, Estelí, Matagalpa, and Chinandega.

It is important to note that MiCrédiEstudios is made possible through the partnership between MiCrédito and Kiva, an organization that manages loans for small businesses and entrepreneurs in developing countries through an Internet platform.
